Heather, an Alabama native, moved into Madison City proper in 2020 with her husband and son. They have lived in the Madison area for 18 years and plan to make Madison their forever home. The schools, overall kid-friendliness, and the abundance of natural and green spaces are big draws for her family. She is originally from Enterprise. She holds a B.A. from The University of Alabama's New College in Community, Culture, and Environment and worked as an outdoor environmental educator and preschool teacher. 

In her role with I Vote Madison, Heather hopes to provide civic education opportunities to adults and children and make being civically engaged more accessible and inclusive. She believes organizations like I Vote Madison and city leadership should make purposeful efforts to bring people into discussions about Madison who have historically been left out of the conversation.
